Our Doctors

In Zoovet the consultations are held by the general-duty doctors, as well as by the following specialists: ophthalmologist, dermatologist, cardiologist, oncologist, ornithologist, herpetologist, dentist, traumatologist-orthopedist. There are always at least 6 doctors, 5 junior medical assistants, a laboratory doctor, the receptionist, call-centre and drug-store staff helping animals at our clinic. The qualified specialists keep patients under a 24-hour medical observation in our recuperation department.

Chief Surgeon of the centre

Candidate of Biological Sciences (PhD)

In 1996 Dmitkiy Garanin graduated with honours from MVA named after Skryabin. Since 1994 he worked as an assistant, and then became a doctor at “Biocontrol” clinic under the direction of Pofessor Mitin. From 2000 to 2007 he worked as the leading surgeon in “White Fang” clinic where he dealt with neurology, oncology, traumatology, thoracic surgery and chemotherapy. He wrote a Ph.D. thesis on safe surgery on dogs’ bones’ tumours. Mr Garanin is a speaker at the annual Russian and international conferences. Within the framework of the Veterinary Surgical Society he works on teaching films on veterinary surgery and holds master classes in osteosynthesis and vertebrology.

He graduated from MVA named after Skryabin in 2001. His specialization is veterinary doctor-zooengineer. After graduating from MVA he worked in “Biocontrol” clinic at Ocological Scientific Centre named after Blokhin where he got the specialization of anaesthesiologist-expert in resuscitation. He has experience in inhalation anaesthesia, including that for exotic animals.

She Graduated from Moscow State Academy of Food Industry with the specialization in biotechnology and synthesis of vitamins (1996). In 2001 she graduated from Vologda State Milk-industry Academy as a veterinary doctor. For 4 years she worked as rehabilitation doctor (post-operating rehabilitation of oncological animals) at the veterinary clinic bases at the Oncological Centre. Her specialization at Zoovet is intensive therapy of critical states and emergency, as well as post-operating rehabilitation.

Alexandr Andreevich Konstantinovskiy

Veterinary doctor-surgeon, specialist in veterinary ophthalmology

He graduated with honours from Gorsk State Agrarian University in 2001. Prize-winner of the diploma of the Ministry for Education for the best student research paper in ophthalmology. In 2004 he took the refresher training course for ophthalmologists in North Ossetian Medical Academy. He did practical work in the leading ophthalmological clinics in Vladikavkaz and Cheget. He has published articles on veterinary ophthalmology. Gold Stethoscope prize-winner.

For six and a half years he worked in agriculture. He was the manager of a veterinary station which attended to more than 1000 cattle, 3000 sheep and 100 horses. He has been successfully treating birds for three years. He is currently working at Zoovet as veterinary ornithologist. She is an administrator of Student’s Veterinary site (http://student.vetdoctor.ru/) and one of the founders of the biggest Russian Veterinary on line libraries. At Zoovet Natalia is responsible for the training of assisting medical staff. Her areas of interest are: dermatology, infectious diseases and intensive therapy.

More than once she participated in conferences students and won student’s competitions. She wrote her diploma on autoimmune diseases of Persian cats. From 2005 to 2006 she worked as an assistant and, later as a veterinary doctor at Grooming Service zoological centre and as an assistant at White Fang clinic. In 2007 she started working at our veterinary first aid service. She has been working at Zoovet veterinary centre since December 2007.

She graduated with honours from Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia, speciality – veterinary surgeon. She is a certified translator to/from German. From 2005 to 2006 she worked as an assistant at White Fang and Centre clinics. Daria Filimonova has been working at Zoovet since 2007. She has had a 3 months training course at Tierklinik-Landegg clininc in Austria where she worked under the guidance of the leading Austian veterinary cardiologist Dr Kostolich. She specializes in cardiology and, echo-cardiology. Daria Filimonova is constantly upgrades her qualifications. She regularly participates in veterinary conferences and congresses.

In 2003 she had a training course at Russian Scientific Centre named after Blokhin where she mastered the method of cytological diagnostics of pre-tumorous and timorous diseases. In 2006 Natalia Mitrokhina successfully completed a training course on immunohistochemichal diagnostics of tumours. She worked at Russian Scientific Centre named after Blokhin until 2008. Since March 2008 she has been working as pathologist -morphologist at Zoovet.

In 2004 she graduated from Tomsk Agricultural University, Veterinary faculty, speciality – veterinary doctor zoologist. From 2004 to 2007 she worked as veterinary pharmacist at VETUS clinic in Tomsk. From 2007 to 2008 she worked as the executive director and veterinary doctor at Aibolit clinic in Tomsk where she specialized in dermatology, therapy of infectious and internal non-infectious diseases of pets and treating birds. Since 2008 – pharmacist and veterinary doctor at Zoovet. Maria Sakhno participates in annual Russian veterinary congresses and conferences.
